Bonus Art at the Met

...the one in which we discover a hidden treasure...

This will be short and sweet.

If you ever visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you MUST go to the "secret" Garden...the Roof Garden, located...well...on the roof. Duh.

It calls itself the Met Roof Garden Cafe and Martini Bar...but don't let the name fool you. As far as "cafe" goes - the food choices are minimal and lacking. Don't go for the food.

Go for the view.

Isn't it beautiful? Scenic views of Central Park - with the Manhattan Skyline - all around...up on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Way cool.

Hubby and Daughter thought this was way cool, too, as evidenced by the number of photos they snapped.

It's a bit tricky to get up here...as there's only ONE elevator in the Museum that will whisk you up here. And here's a hint: it's the elevator located in the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts Galleries. If you get lost, just ask one of the various guides that are stationed just about everywhere.

This picture, of me walking, shows you the teeny, tiny cafe:

This also shows the weird concrete floor that Hubby was freaked out by...he kept making comments like, "Well - you'd think for THEIR budget, they could have a halfway prettier floor!"

Come to find out - this is a piece of art. Yes. There's a hidden meaning in that red concrete, but I won't say what it is here. You'll just have to visit and discover it for yourself.

After taking in the beautiful views around us, it was time to head for lunch....

Stay tuned!
